Sunset At Night?
With the waiting period for the Digital Vans Triple Crown officially coming to a close, surfers scrambled to not only submit their final waves, but make use of the wave-swap loophole our Mikey C. brought to our attention earlier in the season. Jack Robinson went so far as to catch one at Sunset in the pitch black so he can swap it out with his real (and very impressive) entry.
Brent Bielmann From The Channel
It was Big Wednesday Saturday on the North Shore this past weekend, with surfing’s A-Team scoring a session Brent Bielmann described as being in his Top 5. High praise from a guy who’s paid to capture the world’s best swells. We recap with Brent as to why this one was so special.
“Owl Chapman Knows His Stuff”
Last week, Stephanie Gilmore and Dane Gudauskas took our Owl Chapman boards out for a spin at Sunset. This week, we let Wyatt Mchale, Jett Schilling, and Balaram Stack use them to roll in early at Pipe. They may not have gotten ‘the one’, but they all agreed Owl Chapman ain’t playin when it comes to surfboards.
Meet 15-Year-Old Bettylou Sakura Johnson
You saw her compete in Maui. Get to know one of the future faces of female surfing, including how she came to live in Eddie Aikau’s old house, her Olympic aspirations, and who’s impressed her most at Haleiwa this year.
Is Anybody Going To Beat Carissa?
Carissa Moore won Haleiwa in 2008 back when there was a Women’s event. With a 10-year dry spell for Women’s Triple Crown, she was fired up to win this year’s digital iteration. We get a glimpse at her process and hear what it would mean to her to win this year’s Digital Vans Triple Crown.
Ashton vs. Mikey: A 3 Part Saga
With competition coming to a close, Ashton and Mikey embark on a mission to surf Haleiwa, Sunset, and Pipe all in a day to find out once and for all who wins(?) last place in this year’s event. Stick around to the end of the episode to see a Floridaman knock Pipeline’s infamous reef.
